The mayor of Benitatxell has resigned from his duties amid accusations of corruption against him and his deputy, Hannelore Rheindorf.
Juan Cardona had stated categorically that he would not give up his position as mayor, stressing his innocence.

Forest warden dies as car falls into ravine

A forest warden died in Castellón last wednesday when the vehicle he was driving fell into a ravine.
The Provincial Firefighters’ Consortium confirmed that the 30-year-old man was patrolling the area of Morella in the Maestrat district at the time.
